Vu Thi Thanh Huong

Lead Qualitative Researcher

Brief biography

Huong has an MA in Sociolinguistics from Universite de Rouen, France and a PhD in Linguistic Anthropology from the University of Toronto, Canada. She is a senior researcher at the Institute of Linguistics, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University in Hanoi. She joined Young Lives in October 2010 as lead qualitative researcher for the Vietnam team. Much of Huong’s research has focused on language education, addressing the issues of first- and second-language teaching and learning in monolingual and multilingual contexts, language-in-education policies, and gender and inequality.
