When Tufa was 13 years old he was living in a village with his parents and five siblings. The family were poor and all lived in one room. Tufa had dropped out of school when he was 11 because the family home had burned down and he needed to work in order to support his family. He was hoping to be able to go back soon. This written account catches up with him at 16.
