We are sorry to announce that Professor Cath Porter recently stepped down from her post as Director of Young Lives in order to focus on her recovery from Long Covid. We thank Cath for all her hard work leading Young Lives since October 2021 and we wish her all the very best.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Marta Favara, our current Director of Research, has been appointed as the new Young Lives Director and takes up the post with immediate effect.

Marta, a Development Economist, has been leading the Young Lives quantitative research team since 2015. She has a PhD in Economics from the University of Essex and a Master’s in Economics from the University of Leuven. On being made Director, Marta told us:
