The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), Inc., was founded in 1956 to foster cross-cultural understanding, scholarship, academic achievement and societal development through the international study of educational ideas, systems, and practices. The Society’s members include over 3000 academics, students, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world.

The CIES Annual Meeting is a a gathering of Society members and the interested public for an academic research conference devoted to scholarly and practical exchange as well as debate and networking. In 2017 the CIES Annual Meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia with the theme “Problematizing (In)Equality: The Promise of Comparative and International Education”.

Young Lves researchers will be presenting on a panel called 'Mind the Gaps: From Access to Equity in Ethiopia, India and Vietnam'.
