Between 16 and 18th October, academics, representatives from organisations working with children and adolescents, and public policy experts will meet to review the practices and approaches of the work of protection and promotion of human rights with working children at the International Forum Public Policies with Working Children and Adolescents: Perspectives and Experiences from the Global South.
The closed event, organized by La Paz Foundation and partners, will feature keynote speeches from experts in children's rights working worldwide. There will be panels with specialists in this field and state representatives to deepen discussions started during working groups. Young Lives' Virginia Morrow will be presenting at the Forum, drawing on the study research to address the emergence of new public policies and their reconceptualisation for the best interests of the children.
Following the Forum, representatives of the movements will meet internally from 19 to 21 October at the International Meeting of Working Children and Adolescents and Social Movements to coordinate future actions. For updates, please follow #YLChildWork.
