Professor Jo Boyden (Young Lives Director) and Dr Renu Singh (Country Director, Young Lives India) will take part in a special seminar in New Delhi, India on Thursday 26th October hosted by the Global Early Adolescent Study (GEAS).
The seminar, titled Early Adolescence: A Focus on India, is organised by GEAS in conjunction with Young Lives, The World Health Organization, Population Council in India and The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW). Jo and Renu will join fellow presenters Robert Blum (John Hopkins), Neetu John (ICRW), Rajib Acharya (Population Council) and V. Chandra-Mouli (WHO) to discuss and expand on current research, intervention evaluation and policy implications regarding understanding of gender norms among early adolescents worldwide, focusing in particular on India.
The seminar is being organised to coincide with 11th World Congress on Adolescent Health titled 'Investing in Adolescent Health - the future is Now'.
GEAS is an international study hosted at John Hopkins University aiming to understand the factors in early adolescence that predispose young people to subsequent sexual health risks and promote healthy sexuality, so as to provide the information needed to promote sexual and reproductive wellbeing.
