Tanima
Research Assistant
Biography

Tanima joined the Young Lives team as a Research Assistant in January 2024. Her research interests include gender, intra-household dynamics and labour markets in developing contexts. She holds a MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford, where she specialised in econometrics, labour economics and development economics.  

Before joining the Young Lives team, Tanima worked as a consultant for the Women’s Economic Empowerment team at UN Women, where she co-authored research and policy papers on the gender pay gap and the care economy in east and southern Africa.

Previously, she has worked as a Research Associate for the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and Leverageing Evidence for Access and Development (LEAD) at Krea University (formerly IFMR LEAD). Within this role, Tanima worked on Randomised Control Trials (RCT) related to women and children’s health and education, and changing gendered social norms in India.
