Amanda Woodman Deza

Biography

Amanda joined the team as a Research Assistant in September 2023. She has worked as a Research Assistant for Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Harvard Project for Non-communicable Diseases (HPACC), and the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CEMIS) and brings experience in data analysis, international cooperation, and interdisciplinary research collaboration to her new role in the Young Lives team. 

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim and a Master's Degree in Development Economics from the University of Goettingen. Her Master's thesis studied the intertwined effect of native and gender quotas on the political representation of indigenous women in provincial elections in Peru. Overall, her research interests include the intersection of gender and health, as well as the impact of social protection programs in tackling wealth inequalities.
