Founded in 1971, INN was created by a group of Peruvian pediatricians as a research and rehabilitation center for severe child malnutrition. Their aim to develop high-quality research to generate new knowledge that contributes to the development and well-being of the human being, as well as the efficient use of food resources, with an emphasis on the health and nutrition of children, adolescents and women.

Alongside disseminating knowledge and share experiences with academic groups, civil society and groups responsible for decision-making at the local and international level. As well as providing health and nutrition assistance work to people in need, with an emphasis on prevention, as part of research activities.
