Marcello Perez-Alvaerez is an Assistant Professor of Development Economics at Groningen University. His research focuses on human capital and political economy and has been published in renowned international outlets such as the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and the Journal of Population Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Göttingen University.
Marcello has worked as a consultant for international organizations in health and education projects. These research activities include the analysis of child malnutrition for Save the Children, the analysis of teacher performance issues in Indonesia for the World Bank, an impact evaluation of a hospital opening in Nicaragua commissioned by the Dutch Government and survey and study design support for Young Lives.
